Step One
Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered…whatever you’re comfortable with) to your blog. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun (”I’d love a Snape/Hermione icon that’s just for me”) to medium (”I wish for _____ on DVD”) to really big (”All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.”) The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it’s your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your blog, or link to this post (it’ll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here’s the important part:
If you see a wish you can grant, and it’s in your heart to do so, make someone’s wish come true. Sometimes someone’s trash is another’s treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don’t want or a gift certificate you won’t use–or even know where you could get someone’s dream purebred Basset Hound for free–do it.
You needn’t spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn’t to put people out, it’s to provide everyone a chance to be someone else’s holiday elf–to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not–it’s your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached.
Just…wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you’ll have the joy of knowing you made someone’s holiday special.
My Christmas Wishlist
Actually I already have some wishes fulfilled before Christmas even comes, the most notable one being my new HP Pavilion dv2000 laptop, that’s the biggest gift I have received this year. And also a chance to participate in the Christmas ministry, now I will be taking part in the drama, that’s another answered prayer.
But here goes my Christmas wishlist anyway:
- I want to stay longer in Singapore. So please open up the way for me and tell me the way. Whether to find a job, to apply for LPR and any other steps I must take, I wish for all of them to become clear by this Christmas.
- A new car to replace my old run-down car that my brother currently uses in Indonesia, probably a Honda City VTEC A/T, or if dreams do come true, a Mazda3 sedan (asking for a Mazda RX-8 or Nissan 350Z is probably too much, even more so with the Aston Martin DBS from Casino Royale). Well, probably also another car for my father, he wants an SUV for the family, maybe a Toyota Harrier. He needs it.
- A successful Christmas ministry for all departments of the church: youth, adults, maids, sailors and the main event in 25 December. May this Christmas brings a lot of blessings and refreshing to the whole Indonesian congregation in ORPC and even more - towards all Christians in the Earth.
- A nice holiday with my family. They are coming here this Christmas yet I have a very hectic Christmas ministry schedule the first three days they are here. This wish may also extend for me to have a good time management to balance between my studies and ministries, so things won’t become too hectic in the end.
- A nice Christmas towards End Year days with my church friends. If this is going to be my only and last year with them, then let it end nicely for this year, make it memorable.
- For those friends who are having their last term now, let them all pass this term, so that they can truly finish their studies their Christmas and do not have to repeat any failed classes.
- A girlfriend? As if that is going to happen now… maybe next year.
- Now let’s start the material things. Sony Ericsson K800i or W850i. Or any cool handphones or PDAs.
- A collection of Sarah Brightman concert DVDs. I still need to get the “One Night in Eden” and “Live from Las Vegas: Harem World Tour” ones. CDs are okay too as an added bonus.
- I don’t know what to ask more… maybe this one I’ll reserve for “what I actually need or will need but I don’t know that I need it”. Surprise gifts, anyone loves surprise gifts, don’t they?
For my contact details you can e-mail me privately at chaoticblue@gmail.com.
whoa those are expensive materialistic things though I wish I could give you christmas present bro… if only the upcoming business will get bigger.. oh yeah please pray for it bro? hehe thanks!
